Gone Bananas Racing competes part-time in amateur endurance racing events with Champcar Endurance Series by Tirerack.com (2016-Present) and will be joining World Racing League as well beginning in 2020. GBR is a limited liability company formed by Team Owner Buddy Yount and offers limited car preparation services while primarily fielding the #391 GBR Miata in endurance events. Our first competition event was in February of 2016 with the "24 hours of Lemons" series at Barber Motorspeedway, where we finished mid-pack after battling front-left suspension issues all weekend.

Partnering for Success
When bought, this former spec-miata racer was advertised as powered by a Race Engineering engine and so Buddy's first phone call was to Chris Graham of Race Engineering to build a relationship for future engine rebuilds. As it turns out, the engine in the car was not actually one of Chris', though we've since taken care of that little detail. Chris and team have rebuilt the engine several times in the last few years, working their magic to build horsepower while retaining longevity for the endurace series. They see the engines back periodically based on accumulated operating hours for standard refresh. Chris is an invaluable partner in our success! Look Chris up at raceengineering.org or find them on facebook @GiveThemTheBird.
